Big Data for Small Mines - Blessing or Curse?

In the course of recent years, big data and IoT have become an important part of today's technological inventory in modern mines. Whereas huge mines can both afford the investment as well as provide the necessary manpower, small and medium mines often have neither the financial capabilities nor the competent persons on hand to follow suit. This lecture focusses on the challenges and opportunities of a modern data infrastructure for those smaller mining operations, with a special focus on prioritising data and adapted technical solutions.
