Lecture description
Robotic systems have been implemented in various industries to automate processes while establishing high quality standards. In comparison to other industries, the construction industry is highly dynamic, which makes the integration of robotic systems, such as legged robots, a complex task. Legged robots provide advanced mobility, allowing inspections on construction sites, which often have rough terrain or other disruptive factors. However, several challenges are to be managed to automate inspections and progress documentation in construction, e.g. with digital models. In this regard, the presentation will feature the Intelligent Documentation Gadgets developed by the Institute of Digital and Autonomous Construction (IDAC) at Hamburg University of Technology.
