Lecture description

System design has changed with mobile electrification solutions. The shift from traditional combustion engines with a coupled powertrain to electric de-coupled layouts has not only increased flexibility but also our ability to analyze machine usage. In the interaction between electromechanics, electronics and hydraulics the design challenge is to find the sweet spot for machine performance, productivity, and cost expectations.

The many design and performance criteria that will determine the value of the solution include:

Analysis of machine usage, work cycles and installed energy storage

Energy-efficient motion control systems

Flexible powertrain layouts
