Gertrud Morlock holds the Chair of Food Science at the Justus Liebig University Giessen in Germany. She is also the Director of the associated TransMIT Center of Effect-Directed Analysis. She was awarded the Kurt Täufel Prize of the German Society for Food Chemistry, the Father of Stevia Award of the World Stevia Organization, and the Csaba Horváth Memorial Award of the Hungarian Society for Separation Sciences and Connecticut Separation Science Council.
Since 2006 she has authored more than 230 peer-reviewed original research papers, 80 further scientific papers, 17 book chapters, 275 poster and 330 oral presentations, conducted more than 70 workshops, and is highly active in scientific committees. She has numerous collaborations (more than 100) around the globe and many scientific projects with international industries, and is active in various committees.
